Two changes – Liverpool formation vs Man United – Jurgen Klopp is set to be boosted by the return of a key player at Old Trafford…
Jurgen Klopp is expected to benefit from the return of a crucial player at Old Trafford, leading to two alterations in Liverpool’s formation against Man United.
Liverpool will have Wataru Endo back in the lineup for their upcoming match against Manchester United.
Endo was absent during the 3-1 victory over Sheffield United due to a minor injury, but he is expected to be ready to play at Old Trafford.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed the news, stating, “That’s my information [that he will be fit]. We decided to rest him today with the hope that he will be available for Sunday’s match. I trust that nothing will alter that plan.”
Liverpool will receive a significant boost with the availability of Endo, especially considering the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, and Diogo Jota. Following his substitution after an hour against Sheffield United, Mohamed Salah was given a rest, as confirmed by Klopp after the game.
Salah has an impressive record against Manchester United, having scored 13 goals in 14 appearances for Liverpool, including eight in his last five matches at Old Trafford across all competitions.
Alexis Mac Allister, who showcased his exceptional skills with a sublime goal in the recent victory over Sheffield United, will aim to maintain his outstanding form in midfield alongside Endo and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Klopp provided an update on the team’s fitness, stating that no injuries have been reported thus far, allowing for recovery and preparation for the upcoming challenges.
Andy Roberton has recovered from injury and is now fit to strengthen Liverpool’s defense, as they aim to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League from Arsenal.
The Gunners edged ahead of Liverpool by a single point following their 3-0 victory over Brighton last Saturday.
Projected Liverpool starting lineup: Kelleher, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Endo, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Nunez, Diaz
Players sidelined due to injuries: Bajcetic, Jota, Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Doak, Thiago
Match scheduled for 3.30pm BST on Sunday, April 7, 2024
Location: Old Trafford
