According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal’s key defender is poised to make an exit in the summer.

Real Madrid is reportedly eyeing Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes as a potential transfer target this summer.

The Brazilian player has made a strong impression during his time at the Emirates Stadium, being a consistent presence in the team’s defense.

Last season, Gabriel showcased his reliability by starting in all 38 Premier League matches, making him the only outfield player to achieve this feat in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Despite previous interest from Juventus and the Saudi Pro League, it seems that Real Madrid has now joined the list of admirers for the 25-year-old, especially considering their own injury concerns at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal’s top defender, Cedric Soares, is expected to depart the club in the summer as a free agent.

The Portuguese player initially joined Arsenal on loan from Southampton in January 2020 and later signed a free transfer contract. Despite facing injuries, Cedric became an important member of the squad in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, making 51 appearances and contributing with one goal and five assists.

However, his role has diminished significantly in the current season, with limited playing time. As a result, it seems that Cedric’s time at Arsenal will gradually come to an end in June.

In other news, Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber is set to return to full fitness after the international break. Timber, who was signed from Ajax in July 2023, suffered a cruciate ligament tear early in his Arsenal career but is now expected to be available for selection.

Arsenal’s Jurrien Timber is expected to make his comeback after the international break, according to Football.london’s Kaya Kaynak. The Dutch defender, who joined the club from Ajax for a reported fee of £38 million in July 2023, suffered a cruciate ligament tear early on in his Arsenal career.

However, after months of rehabilitation, Timber is now on the verge of returning to full fitness. Barring any unforeseen setbacks, he could be back in action for the Gunners soon.

Jurrien Timber joined Arsenal from Eredivisie club Ajax for a fee around £38 million in July 2023. Unfortunately, he sustained a cruciate ligament injury after featuring in only two matches for the team.

He participated for 76 minutes in Arsenal’s victory over Manchester City in the FA Community Shield. Timber was also in the starting lineup for their Premier League match against Nottingham Forest but had to be substituted due to injury at halftime. After being out of action for seven months, Timber might be back in action following the international break.
