Liverpool is on the brink of a new era as Jurgen Klopp prepares to step down as manager after an illustrious nine-year tenure.

With Klopp’s departure, the club is set to embark on a thrilling yet uncertain journey under new leadership. Alongside this transition, there are also expected to be new arrivals in the summer transfer window.

As the current season draws to a close, several players are anticipated to leave the club as their contracts near expiration. While some senior players have been linked with lucrative transfers, there are six individuals who are confirmed to be departing unless last-minute contract extensions are agreed upon.

According to Transfermarkt information, these six players are soon-to-be free agents who will bid farewell to Anfield this summer.

Among them are three key members of the first team, as well as three promising talents from the U21 squad who have been striving for an opportunity in the senior setup but have yet to fully establish themselves in comparison to their counterparts.

1. Thiago Alcantara

Liverpool reached an agreement for a £27 million transfer fee to acquire the midfielder in 2020. He is on the verge of making his 100th appearance for the team in red with 98 matches played, but his time at Anfield has been affected by injuries recently.

2. Mateusz Musiałowski

Having entered Liverpool’s youth system in 2020 from UKS SMS Łódź, the versatile 20-year-old will be departing in the summer once his contract expires. Musiałowski marked his senior debut in March against Sparta Praha in the Europa League.

3. Joël Matip

Matip has been recognized as one of the club’s greatest free signings following his move from Schalke to Liverpool in 2016. Unfortunately, his final season with Liverpool was cut short due to an ACL injury suffered in December.

4. Oscar Kelly

Despite progressing through the club’s youth ranks, Oscar Kelly, the 21-year-old goalkeeper, has yet to make any appearances at the senior level.

5. Adrián

Since joining as a free agent in 2019 to provide backup for Alisson, Adrián has fallen down the pecking order and has not played a match since the team’s victory in the Community Shield in 2022.

6. Melkamu Frauendorf

Melkamu Frauendorf, a promising winger, has had the opportunity to make two appearances for Liverpool at the senior level. He made a cameo appearance in the FA Cup and started in the Carabao Cup match against Derby in 2022.
