Sunderland’s transfer news has brought confirmation regarding the decisions on Amad as the Black Cats continue their pursuit of late deals…
Sunderland’s pursuit of late deals in the transfer market has led to confirmation of their decisions regarding Amad and Kieffer Moore.
The Black Cats are determined to bolster their squad before the January transfer window closes. Despite Sunderland’s interest in signing the 21-year-old Amad, who has faced injury setbacks during his time at Old Trafford, Manchester United has expressed their intention to keep him as a crucial player for the remainder of the season. This has been further validated by his inclusion in Erik ten Hag’s matchday squad.
Speaking last week, sporting director Kristjaan Speakman confirmed that while Sunderland were exploring the possibility of reaching an agreement, their preparations were focused on him staying in the north west.
“In the transfer window, there are many unlikely occurrences that actually happen, and there are many anticipated events that never materialize,” Speakman stated.
“This is simply the nature of the market we operate in. The situation with Amad is quite clear. We have a very positive relationship with the player and his representatives, as well as with Manchester United.
Last season, all parties involved were extremely pleased with the outcome. Do we believe he is a player who could enhance our team? Absolutely. Have we made inquiries about him? Yes. Have we maintained regular communication? Certainly. If we had not stayed in touch regarding his situation, I might be facing consequences.
That’s where we stand. If there are any changes in the circumstances, we will be proactive and fully comprehend the situation. However, it does not guarantee that we would secure his services even if he were to become available, because, as I have mentioned on numerous occasions, I consider him to be a top-tier player who is likely to play in one of the elite leagues.”
Sunderland have made significant additions to their squad on the final day of the transfer window. Romaine Mundle has joined from Standard Liege on a long-term deal, strengthening their options in the wide areas. The club is actively pursuing further signings, particularly in the central midfield and striker positions.
Callum Styles is expected to be the incoming midfielder, with negotiations for a loan deal with an obligation to buy progressing well. However, the situation regarding a new striker remains uncertain. Kieffer Moore, a potential target, has chosen to join Ipswich Town after they presented an enticing financial package to Bournemouth.
“It’s a relief to finally complete the deal, as it has been a prolonged process throughout the window,” expressed Moore.
I have vivid memories of my initial experience here, and since then, I have dedicated myself to personal growth and development. Therefore, I am thrilled to return and eagerly anticipate commencing my endeavors. The enthusiasm I felt while conversing with everyone here was truly exhilarating, and now I am eager to meet the team, step onto the field, and make a valuable contribution.
