Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is set to make his first transfer request at Liverpool by aiming to sign Palmeiras midfielder Luis Guilherme, reports say.

The Reds were previously linked with Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen and Ruben Amorim from Sporting Lisbon, but ultimately decided to appoint Slot as their new manager.

Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that Slot’s move to Liverpool is a done deal, marking the end of the club’s search for Jurgen Klopp’s successor. Slot is expected to join the team at the end of the season.

Romano also provided details on the contract length and the compensation Liverpool will need to pay Feyenoord.

The Italian transfer specialist mentioned in his Caught Offside column that Slot’s move to Liverpool is confirmed. Slot is currently gathering information about Liverpool players, the team’s status, and the requirements for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The process of Slot becoming the new Liverpool manager has already begun, with details about the length of his contract still being finalized. It is unlikely to be a long-term contract, possibly starting short with the option to extend.

Slot has already settled on his salary and backroom staff arrangements. In terms of compensation to Feyenoord, Liverpool is set to pay €9m plus €2m in add-ons for Slot, and around €13-15m for the entire backroom staff.

The total amount is expected to be around €13.5m, potentially reaching €15m with additional clauses. Liverpool plans to make this payment within a year, which played a role in securing Feyenoord’s approval for the deal.

Arne Slot lines up his first Liverpool signing

According to Spanish publication Nacional, the Dutchman is set to bring in a player who is being dubbed as the ‘new Ronaldinho’ at Anfield.

His initial transfer request is said to be a surprising move for Palmeiras starlet Guilherme, with the incoming Liverpool manager already making inquiries about potential signings.

Guilherme, who is 18 years old, is believed to possess qualities reminiscent of Ronaldinho, and Liverpool is reportedly willing to offer around €20m for the Brazilian. However, Palmeiras is standing firm on their demand for €50m for the midfielder.
