Sky Sports analyst was highly impressed by a Liverpool player who received a 9/10 rating following his performance against Leverkusen.

Sky Sports analyst Vinny O’Connor was thoroughly impressed by Luis Diaz following his remarkable hat-trick in Liverpool’s dominant 4-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen.

The reigning Bundesliga champions struggled to contain the dynamic Colombian, who was instrumental in helping Liverpool secure their third consecutive victory.

Diaz initiated the scoring shortly after the hour mark, capitalizing on a perfectly timed pass from Curtis Jones and finishing with an exquisite lob.

Cody Gakpo doubled the lead just two minutes later, converting a precise cross from Mohamed Salah, whose ongoing contract situation continues to attract attention.

Diaz then completed his hat-trick with two goals in quick succession late in the match, first tapping in a cross from Salah and then finishing a swift counter-attack during stoppage time.

For his third goal, the Colombian winger sprinted the length of the field and found himself in the right place at the right time to convert a deflected shot from Darwin Nunez.

O’Connor praised Diaz’s determination and effort, noting that he earned the match ball through his performance.

“You create your own opportunities, and Diaz certainly earned that hat-trick,” remarked Vinny O’Connor from Sky Sports News.

“Once again, we witnessed how rapidly Liverpool transitioned the ball in the second half.

“It was clear Nunez intended to take the shot himself, but Diaz was fortunate that the rebound came to him, allowing him to take home the match ball.”

Liverpool has now achieved four victories in as many matches, continuing their impressive start to the new Champions League campaign.

Next, they will focus on the highly anticipated match against Aston Villa at Anfield this weekend.

The Reds will aim to extend their 12-match unbeaten run and solidify their position at the top of the Premier League standings against Villa.
