Salah compares Arne Slot’s approach to that of Liverpool seven years prior, stating, “I’m stepping outside my comfort zone.”

Mohamed Salah has articulated that Arne Slot’s approach at Liverpool mirrors the style he experienced upon his arrival at the club, pushing him beyond his “comfort zone.”

After spending seven seasons under Jurgen Klopp, Salah is now adapting to Slot’s coaching style, which he believes reflects the early days of his tenure at Anfield.

In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, following his contribution of one goal and two assists in the 3-0 win against Manchester United, Salah was asked about the attacking dynamics of the new Liverpool team.

“There isn’t a significant difference, as the initial years under Jurgen were focused on winning the ball high up the pitch,” he noted.

“Over time, we evolved our system and style of play. It feels quite similar to how it was seven years ago, but the manager has his unique approach, and we are all working to adapt to it.”

When further probed about the transition from Klopp to Slot, Salah remarked, “It’s a bit complex to articulate, but after having Jurgen for seven years, you inevitably settle into a comfort zone.

He consistently encouraged us to step outside of it, but being with a manager for that long naturally leads to a sense of familiarity.

Now, with a new manager, he brings his own philosophy and expects everyone to adjust.

He has held several meetings with the senior players, emphasizing the need to set a standard for the younger members and to put in the effort.

I believe we are embracing his system effectively, and I hope we can maintain this momentum.”

Salah’s sentiment suggests a positive outlook, indicating that he feels more challenged as a player with the coaching change, amidst indications of his desire to remain at Liverpool.

The club has not yet initiated discussions regarding a new contract for the No. 11, but there is optimism that an agreement will be reached in the near future.

Salah’s comments shed light on Slot’s methodology and its early success, reflected in three consecutive victories. This achievement is likely supported by the stability of the squad he took over from Klopp.

Initially, there were worries that supporters might long for the high-energy style of Liverpool’s previous manager, given Slot’s preference for a possession-oriented game.

However, the current developments are promising, and Salah appears to share this enthusiasm.
