Roy Keane criticizes Liverpool player following Newcastle incident.

Roy Keane expresses his frustration regarding a Newcastle situation, singling out a player from Liverpool for criticism.

Roy Keane has directed criticism towards Alexis Mac Allister in light of Alexander Isak’s opening goal for Newcastle against Liverpool on Wednesday night.

Isak’s remarkable strike put Newcastle ahead, but Keane contended that it was a goal that could have been prevented from Liverpool’s standpoint.

Mac Allister, who was positioned in midfield alongside Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones, received a yellow card just 20 minutes into the match for a late tackle on Fabian Schar.

This booking will result in his suspension for the upcoming Merseyside Derby against Everton on Saturday.

However, Keane believes the immediate repercussions of Mac Allister’s foul were felt during the match at St James’ Park.

Fifteen minutes after Mac Allister’s yellow card, Isak scored for Newcastle. The goal was set up when Magpies captain Bruno Guimaraes maneuvered past Mac Allister before assisting the Swedish forward.

Isak managed to fend off Virgil van Dijk and unleashed a powerful shot into the top right corner.

Keane attributed blame to Mac Allister, arguing that the midfielder’s decision to rush out of position to confront Guimaraes was a critical error.

During The Overlap’s Watchalong, Keane remarked, “Look at Mac Allister. Look at Mac Allister.

Look at Mac Allister. Look at Mac Allister. Look at Mac Allister here. He can’t. Great strike. What power. If you’re on a yellow card and can’t run, don’t go in there.”

In contrast, Chelsea legend Pat Nevin praised Isak for his performance, highlighting the striker’s contributions throughout the first half, as Newcastle maintained their lead until the break.

“Alexander Isak is some player! Moments after he set up Lewis Hall for a chance which he can’t get on target, he goes alone, turning Virgil van Dijk about 25 yards out and then absolutely leathering the ball into the roof of the net,” Nevin stated on BBC Radio 5 Live.

The goal was remarkable, showcasing power, curve, and a perfect dip! Liverpool began the match strongly, but as the first half progressed, Newcastle improved significantly.

Alexander Isak has truly been the standout performer.
