Riccardo Calafiori addresses fans on social media following his injury during Italy’s match against France last night.
Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori has spoken out on social media after being substituted due to an injury during Italy’s Nations League match against France.
The summer acquisition for Arsenal participated in the international fixture, where Italy faced off against France on Friday evening.
Calafiori was among the standout players for the Azzurri in a challenging Euro 2024 campaign, which saw them eliminated by Switzerland in the round of 16.
Italy aims to turn their fortunes around, and they made a promising start with a historic victory over Les Bleus in France, their first in 70 years.
The match began poorly for Italy as Bradley Barcola scored for France just a minute in, but Federico Dimarco equalized around the half-hour mark.
With the return of Sandro Tonali providing a boost, Italy took the lead in the 50th minute through Davide Frattesi and secured the win with a goal from Giacomo Raspadori in the 74th minute.
Calafiori was performing exceptionally well under Luciano Spalletti’s management before being substituted as a precaution after an awkward landing on his ankle due to an accidental collision with Ousmane Dembele, who had just been tackled.
This incident raised concerns among Arsenal supporters; however, initial assessments suggest there is no significant injury.
Reports from Sky Sports News indicate that Calafiori is likely to participate in Monday’s Nations League match against Israel.
Despite coming off injured during Italy’s win over France, Calafiori is anticipated to be fit for the upcoming game against Israel.
The player has taken to social media to share his thoughts, omitting any mention of injury, which implies that there is little cause for concern.
On Instagram, Calafiori expressed his excitement, stating: “What a performance, what a night!”
When is Calafiori expected to return to the field? It is reassuring to see that both Sky Sports and Calafiori are minimizing the concerns surrounding his injury.
Italy is set to compete against Israel in Budapest on Monday evening, and there is a possibility that the Arsenal player could participate.
Following the international break, Arsenal aims to regain their momentum in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
