Report: Xabi Alonso has already identified two players whom he desires to sign for Liverpool, with one expressing their enthusiasm for a potential move to Anfield.

Xabi Alonso is prepared to assume the managerial role at Liverpool, succeeding Jurgen Klopp, and has already identified two potential signings.

So, which players are on Xabi Alonso’s radar for Liverpool? Let’s delve into the details…

Xabi Alonso has his eyes set on Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz for Liverpool. As per TEAMtalk, the Spaniard is keen on securing the signatures of Frimpong and Wirtz once he takes charge at Anfield.

Reports suggest that Alonso has been presented with a three-year contract by Liverpool after fruitful discussions, and the 42-year-old is confident in his ability to succeed Klopp. In order to ease his transition from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool, Alonso plans to bring along Wirtz and Frimpong as part of his squad.

This season, Bayer Leverkusen finds themselves eight points ahead of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga standings, largely due to the impactful performances of the duo.

Wirtz has been exceptional with eight goals and 17 assists in 31 matches, showcasing his talent on the field.

Frimpong, on the other hand, has been outstanding as a right-back, scoring nine goals and providing ten assists in just 29 games.

It has been reported that Jeremie Frimpong has expressed his desire to play for Liverpool.

Securing a deal for Wirtz might prove to be a challenge for Alonso, as the young German talent is valued at £111m by Bayer Leverkusen.

Frimpong, on the other hand, might be more readily available for signing, considering that the Dutch player has openly expressed his desire to join Liverpool. The talented midfielder, who currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen as their No.30, spoke to Ziggo Sport and praised Liverpool as a great club with a rich history. He stated that it would be fantastic to join them and expressed uncertainty about what the future holds.

According to a report from Depor, Liverpool has already shown interest in acquiring Frimpong’s services, regardless of whether Klopp is replaced by Alonso or not. This suggests that a potential deal could materialize during the upcoming summer transfer window.

It would be wise to closely monitor this situation, especially as Alonso sets his sights on Frimpong and Wirtz.
