After reaching a £25m deal, Liverpool’s target player is set to have a medical examination within the next 24 hours.

West Ham United have reached an agreement with Leeds United for the transfer of Crysencio Summerville, a player previously linked with Liverpool.

The winger, who has attracted interest from various Premier League clubs such as Chelsea and Newcastle United, as well as European giants like Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, is now set to undergo a medical within the next 24 hours.

Following the completion of the medical, Summerville will join the West Ham squad on their pre-season tour in the United States.

Summerville still had two years left on his contract at Elland Road and was widely expected to depart Leeds following their loss to Southampton in the Championship play-off final in May.

Leeds have already offloaded academy talent Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur for £40m, and now another key player is poised to make the move to London. Gray had also been linked with Liverpool before joining Spurs.

Summerville joined Leeds for their pre-season tour of Germany and featured in a friendly against League Two Harrogate Town last month.

He was named Championship player of the season last term after scoring 21 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions.

Despite finishing third in the division with 90 points, Leeds had to settle for the play-offs and suffered heartbreak at Wembley.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that a deal has been reached, with the transfer fee set at £25m plus add-ons, and Summerville agreeing to a long-term deal at the London Stadium.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have yet to make a signing this summer as they prepare for their first season under Arne Slot.

Mohamed Salah, who is in the final year of his contract, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota are the club’s main forward options at present, with a defensive midfielder being the priority for Liverpool as they aim to strengthen before the transfer window closes on August 30.
