Report: Liverpool’s target is determined to skip training as he seeks a transfer to another club…
Liverpool target is set on not participating in training sessions, as he aims to push for a transfer to a different destination.
The player targeted by Liverpool is determined not to return to training as he seeks to secure a transfer to another club.
Liverpool has encountered challenges in their attempts to strengthen their squad this summer as the transfer window nears its conclusion.
With a focus on acquiring midfield reinforcements, Liverpool made an approach for Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad.
However, the Spanish player opted to remain with his childhood club, delivering a significant setback to Arne Slot.
Currently, it seems that one of their desired signings is pushing for a transfer before the deadline, with Italian sources indicating that Teun Koopmeiners is refusing to participate in training with Atalanta.
Teun Koopmeiners is looking to depart from Atalanta prior to the transfer deadline.
- Corriere dello Sport reports that Atalanta was anticipating Koopmeiners’ return to training yesterday, but that did not occur.
The Dutch midfielder, along with Ademola Lookman, did not participate in the training session with the Atalanta team and also missed the team lunch yesterday.
Earlier this summer, Koopmeiners was identified as Liverpool’s primary target, but he has already reached an agreement on personal terms with Juventus regarding a potential transfer.
Atalanta’s head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, excluded him from the squad for their Serie A match against Lecce, and it appears unlikely that the midfielder will play for the club until his future is clarified.
What can Liverpool fans expect as the transfer deadline approaches?
Koopmeiners is currently in negotiations to join Juventus, and Liverpool has yet to present a competing offer, although there are still a few days remaining in the transfer window.
Liverpool is reportedly close to acquiring Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, but the Georgian goalkeeper is expected to remain on loan at Mestalla for the duration of the season as part of the agreement.
The Reds have attempted to secure Zubimendi and Anthony Gordon but were unsuccessful, and there have been few significant links to other players since, aside from Mamardashvili.
While there is still time for developments, the prospect of the transfer window closing without any new signings at Anfield is becoming increasingly concerning.
