Liverpool must finalize a deal worth £65m to secure the signing, according to a report.

Liverpool have been linked with several high-quality center-backs, with Marc Guehi’s name once again in the spotlight.

The Merseyside club had attempted to bring the England international in during the previous summer transfer window but ultimately decided to focus on strengthening their midfield instead of signing a defender.

In January, Liverpool prioritized signing the Crystal Palace defender to replace Joel Matip, who is set to depart the club at the end of the month.

With Matip’s impending departure, Liverpool have renewed their interest in securing Guehi’s signature.

Reports in the British media have highlighted that the Anfield side will need to reach an agreement on a substantial fee of £65m in order to secure the talented Eagles star.

The Daily Mail has reported that Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham are closely monitoring the situation of Guehi.

Palace, taking into account the significant valuation of Jarrad Branthwaite, have set a price tag of £65m on their prized asset, especially considering his participation in the European Championships for England, which sets him apart from the Everton star.

Additionally, The Telegraph has stated that Liverpool has expressed interest in signing the defender, who was born in Ivory Coast.

It is worth noting that Guehi’s current contract at Selhurst Park is set to expire in 2026.

According to the report, Palace is eager for him to commit to an extension and will not entertain any offers below £65m this summer.

Guehi faced injury setbacks last season, missing a few months due to a knee issue. Nonetheless, when healthy, he showcased his defensive prowess for the London club.

During the Euros’ initial group match, he paired up with John Stones in the center of defense, aiding England in securing a clean sheet against Serbia (1-0).
