Report: Liverpool is prepared to bid £102m for a replacement for Salah, with all signs suggesting a sale will take place in the summer…
Liverpool is reportedly prepared to offer a substantial £102m for a replacement for Mohamed Salah, as there are strong indications that he may be sold in the summer.
According to reports, Liverpool is ready to put forward a significant sum of £102m to secure a replacement for Salah, as all signs seem to indicate that the club is considering selling the talented Egyptian winger in the summer.
The Premier League giants have been alerted to the interest of PSG in the winger. Last year, Salah was heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool, and Al-Ittihad, a team from the Saudi Pro League, even made a failed bid of £150m for the Egyptian international.
It was expected that Al-Ittihad would make another attempt to sign Salah either in the summer or in January, but no offers materialized for the 31-year-old, who is currently contracted to Liverpool until 2025.
Salah’s presence has been instrumental for Liverpool this season, as he has been in sensational form, helping the team in their pursuit of four trophies.
Salah faced challenges upon his return to full fitness post his hamstring injury, leading to a well-known confrontation with Jurgen Klopp on the sidelines when he was not included in the starting lineup against West Ham on April 27.
This incident sparked rumors about Salah’s potential departure from Liverpool, with recent reports suggesting that the club is gearing up for crucial discussions with the player about his future.
Reports from Spain indicate that Salah has been approached by PSG and various Saudi Pro League clubs, hinting that he may be preparing to leave.
As a result, Liverpool is now on the lookout for a dependable replacement, with Real Madrid’s Rodrgyo emerging as a possible candidate.
Before joining Real Madrid in 2019, the 23-year-old player was previously linked with Liverpool. However, since then, he has made an impressive 200+ appearances for the Spanish giants over the course of the last five seasons.
Rodrygo’s performance in the Champions League has been particularly noteworthy, with 17 goals in 49 appearances this season.
Nevertheless, there have been suggestions that the arrival of Kylian Mbappe during the summer could potentially lead to the Brazilian international seeking opportunities elsewhere.
According to reports from Spain, Liverpool has identified Rodrygo as their priority target to compensate for the potential loss of Salah. Real Madrid, on the other hand, does not consider him to be ‘untouchable’.
It is worth noting that Liverpool possesses a substantial budget and is willing to offer 120 million euros (£102m) for Rodrygo, which is a significant and enticing proposal.
Madrid could potentially generate considerable income from a player who has not yet fully met their expectations, and they could use that to secure another high-profile signing to fill the void left by his departure.
It is possible that Florentino Pérez may eventually decide to open the doors.
