Report :Liverpool is considering surprise transfer decision after latest Diogo Jota injury – journalist
Liverpool may be looking into an unexpected transfer decision due to Diogo Jota’s recent injury, as reported by a journalist.
Liverpool may be contemplating an unexpected transfer move following the recent injury setback of Diogo Jota, according to journalist David Lynch.
As Liverpool prepares for their match against Brentford on Saturday, they face mounting pressure.
The team has drawn their last two Premier League matches, allowing Arsenal to narrow the gap at the top of the standings to just four points.
Although Liverpool still holds a game in hand, they are keen to avoid losing any further ground this weekend.
Unfortunately, ahead of the match, the club received disappointing news regarding Jota.
After scoring the equalizer against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, he has sustained another injury.
Jota had made a significant impact after coming off the bench, but having only recently returned from a previous injury in December, he is now sidelined once again.
Lynch suggests that Liverpool might be considering a somewhat surprising transfer decision concerning Jota.
Since joining the club in 2020, Jota has been a key player, but his time at Anfield has been marred by fitness issues. While he has a respectable record of 64 goals in 164 appearances, his availability has often been a concern.
With Darwin Nunez underperforming and likely to be sold in the summer, there is a pressing need for a more dependable striker.
Lynch mentioned on his YouTube channel that Jota’s ongoing injury issues could lead to him being placed on the transfer market at the end of the season.
He stated, “It starts the debate around what do you do with him this summer?” while recognizing the impact of Jota’s injuries.
He added, “I don’t expect Liverpool to do anything kind of rash in the January window, but it does raise the question.”
He will be two years away from the conclusion of his contract when this season wraps up. The question arises: can Liverpool depend on him, or should they consider selling him? This is a significant discussion that is likely to emerge.
Lynch notes that this issue is simmering beneath the surface as we approach summer. “Hopefully, this absence will only result in missing one match.”
Is there a possibility for Liverpool to make moves in the January transfer window? There is a pressing need for Liverpool to secure a central striker capable of consistently performing for Slot this summer.
With Nunez struggling and Jota’s limited availability, some fans are advocating for this recruitment effort to be expedited to the winter transfer window.
Liverpool had been strongly linked with players like Omar Marmoush, who has been excelling at Eintracht Frankfurt this season. However, the Egyptian is poised to sign with Manchester City instead.
While there remains a possibility for Liverpool to pursue another long-term target if an unexpected opportunity arises, we do not anticipate any immediate actions at this time.
However, the situation could change significantly by summer.
