Report: Arsenal can secure the signing of a 24-year-old star in a £29.5 million deal, as personal terms have been agreed.

Turkish outlet Ajansspor reveals that Fenerbahce has informed Arsenal that they need to pay an additional €15 million (£12.6m) to secure the services of defender Ferdi Kadioglu this summer.

Despite Arsenal’s opening bid of €20 million (£16.9m) being rejected, negotiations are ongoing.

Borussia Dortmund also made an offer of €25 million (£21m), which was turned down. Fenerbahce president Ali Koc has set a minimum asking price of €35 million (£29.5m) for the talented player, who is currently representing Turkey at Euro 2024.

Possible agreement

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, frequently rotated his choices in the left-back department.

Initially, Oleksandr Zinchenko held the position, but at the beginning of 2024, Jakub Kiwior was chosen instead. Towards the end of the Premier League season, Takehiro Tomiyasu became the preferred left-back.

Out of the three players, Zinchenko’s performance was the most concerning last season, and there is a possibility that he may leave the club if Kadioglu joins.

The Turkish star would be an excellent addition to the team, as he is a skilled full-back who excels in both ball-playing and defense. In a recent match against Georgia, he completed 94% of his passes, made 7 recoveries, 3 interceptions, and 2 tackles.

Furthermore, Kadioglu also provided an accurate cross into the box, resulting in the opening goal.

He has the versatility to play in both full-back positions, despite being right-footed. Arsenal is aiming to negotiate the price, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they make a renewed attempt to sign the Fenerbahce graduate in the near future.

As long as the Gunners are willing to meet the reported asking price, Fenerbahce could potentially sell him, especially since personal terms have already been agreed upon.
