Arsenal has the opportunity to secure the services of an 18-year-old player who has been compared to Sergio Aguero for a fee of only £21m. This talented individual showcased his skills at Euro 2024.
Arsenal is rumored to be close to signing 18-year-old Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna, with the deal potentially being finalized by the weekend.
In addition to Calafiori, the Gunners are also reportedly considering other players to strengthen their attack and overall team performance.
Arsenal has maintained a low profile in the transfer market this summer, but it appears that they are on the verge of securing their first signing.
Reports suggest that the Gunners are nearing a deal for Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori, with the transfer possibly being finalized by the weekend.
Calafiori is just one of the players rumored to be on Arsenal’s radar this summer. Several players in various positions on the field are reportedly being considered.
In particular, Arsenal is rumored to be seeking attacking reinforcements to enhance the team’s offensive capabilities.
CaughtOffside has reported that Arsenal may have the opportunity to acquire Semih Kilicsoy for a reasonable price range of €25-30million (£21-25million).
Arsenal’s Interest in Semih Kilicsoy
Semih Kilicsoy, who currently plays for Besiktas and the Turkish national team, is the player in question.
Aksam had previously mentioned that Arsenal was at the forefront among Premier League clubs pursuing Kilicsoy.
Despite receiving offers from other English clubs for the 18-year-old, they have not been able to secure his services.
According to sources at CaughtOffside, Besiktas is demanding €25-30million for Kilicsoy, with the possibility of him leaving the club for the right price this summer.
Fulham submitted an initial bid of €15million, while Aston Villa presented a verbal offer of €16million, both of which were turned down, as per the report.
The report also confirms that Arsenal has shown interest in Kilicsoy and scouted him during the Euro 2024 tournament.
Semih Kilicsoy, the target for Arsenal, has progressed through the ranks at Besiktas and established himself as a regular first-team player last year.
Kilicsoy, who is 18 years old, scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 35 club matches across all competitions last season.
He has earned three caps for Turkiye and was part of the squad that made it to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, where he came on as a substitute against the Netherlands.
Besiktas academy director Mehmet Eksi mentioned in January that Kilicsoy is often compared to Gerd Muller and Sergio Aguero.
Kilicsoy himself looks up to Aguero as his idol. Eksi highlighted Kilicsoy’s excellent ball control, body usage, speed over short distances, and versatility in playing across different positions such as right winger, left winger, centre-forward, and behind the striker.
