Arsenal has identified an 18-year-old talent, comparable to Yamal, as a crucial signing for Arteta’s plans.

The Gunners are keen on signing an 18-year-old star, who bears resemblance to Yamal, as a primary objective for Arteta.

Arsenal is reportedly at the forefront of the pursuit to acquire 18-year-old talent Antonio Cordero from Malaga, although they are contending with interest from Manchester City, Manchester United, and Aston Villa, as stated by CaughtOffside.

Cordero has made a notable impact this season in Spain’s second division, netting three goals and providing three assists, which has drawn attention from various clubs.

The young midfielder is highly regarded in Spain and has caught the eye of Mikel Arteta, who sees him as a valuable addition.

Arteta has communicated to the club’s management that securing an attacking midfielder is a primary objective in the upcoming transfer windows, as he believes the team is lacking in this area. He views Cordero as an ideal candidate to fill this need.

Arsenal’s Need for Cordero

The Gunners are in search of enhanced quality in their attacking lineup.

Currently positioned fourth in the Premier League after eleven matches, Arsenal has experienced a somewhat rocky start to the season.

The absence of Martin Odegaard for three months due to injury has hindered their creativity, leading to a decline in both results and overall form.

With a six-point gap from league leaders Liverpool, Arteta’s squad must embark on a strong winning streak to revive their title hopes.

CaughtOffside reports that the Spanish manager believes that bolstering the attacking midfield position in January could be crucial for achieving this goal.

Consequently, Arsenal has compiled a list of potential signings to fill the void left by Fabio Vieira and Emile Smith Rowe, both of whom departed in the summer.

Cordero is among the prospects being considered, and the club is eager to secure his services ahead of other top European teams showing interest.

Cordero developed his skills at various Spanish clubs during his youth career, ultimately joining Malaga in 2021.

This season marks his emergence as a key player, as he has participated in every league match for Malaga thus far, showcasing flashes of exceptional talent that have drawn comparisons to Barcelona’s prominent winger, Lamine Yamal.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly interested in acquiring the Spain under-19 international, which means Arteta will need to craft a compelling proposal to convince Cordero to reject the allure of these Spanish powerhouses in favor of a move to the North London club.
