Arsenal reveals interest in Leroy Sane as a backup plan to Nico Williams.

Arsenal have expressed interest in acquiring Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane, as reported by FootballTransfers.

The club is currently devising a contingency plan in the event that they are unable to secure their primary forward target Nico Williams during the upcoming transfer window.

Sources have indicated that Bayern Munich would be willing to enter negotiations if Arsenal were to submit an offer surpassing £40 million (€47.6m), despite Vincent Kompany’s desire to retain Sane.

Bayern Munich is not actively seeking to offload the former Manchester City player, but they do not view him as ‘untouchable.’

On the contrary, the club is looking to generate funds by selling a winger, having already spent €145m on new signings in this early transfer window.

While Sane is content at the Allianz Arena, he may be swayed if Arsenal presents an attractive contract offer.

At 28 years old, he is at the peak of his career and looking for what could be his final significant deal in football.

Mikel Arteta is familiar with Sane, and with only one year remaining on his contract, the winger could be a viable option for Arsenal as they aim to strengthen their wide positions.

The Basque community is familiar with him from their shared time at Manchester City, where Arteta served as Pep Guardiola’s assistant.

This relationship may play a significant role in persuading Sane to join Arsenal if they choose to make a formal offer.

While Athletic Club and Spain’s emerging talent Williams is Arteta’s top choice for the wing position, Arsenal is hesitant to overspend on him.

This could lead Williams to stay put or consider a move to Barcelona, who are reportedly intensifying their efforts to secure his signature this week.

Arteta and Havertz’s partnership could prove to be crucial.

Sane has previously expressed his gratitude for the time he spent working with Arteta, highlighting the positive impact it had on his development.

He mentioned how they discussed ways to enhance his game, focusing on strengths and weaknesses.

The winger credited Arteta for the significant improvements he made under his guidance, particularly in terms of positioning and decision-making on the field.

Moreover, Sane’s existing relationship with Havertz in the German national team could facilitate his transition to Arsenal if a move were to materialize.

The familiarity with both Arteta and Havertz might play a key role in convincing Sane to join the Gunners.
