Report: Arsenal already in contact to sign £80m star, eyeing early negotiations next month…
Arsenal is currently leading the race among European giants to secure the signing of a 25-year-old goal machine.
The Swedish international, Viktor Gyokeres, who plays as a striker for Sporting CP, has been in exceptional form this season, netting an impressive 36 goals across all competitions. Additionally, he has provided 14 assists.
According to a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport (h/t SportWitness), AC Milan is also interested in acquiring the services of Gyokeres. However, Arsenal currently holds the advantage in securing the talented striker.
With an exciting squad already in place, the addition of a top-class striker like Gyokeres could elevate Arsenal to new heights. Currently, Gabriel Jesus serves as the Gunners’ first-choice striker, but the Brazilian has struggled to consistently find the back of the net.
Viktor Gyokeres could be a game-changer for Arsenal, surpassing Jesus and elevating their performance in the attacking third.
The opportunity to join a top-tier club is undoubtedly enticing for the 25-year-old Swedish international. The question now is whether both parties can reach an agreement in the near future.
It is possible that Arsenal will have to pay a higher price for Viktor Gyokeres. With a release clause of €100 million in his contract, it is unlikely that any club would be willing to meet such a hefty sum for the former Coventry City striker.
However, according to an Italian publication, there is a chance that the player could be sold for a more reasonable fee of around €50 million in the upcoming summer transfer window. This amount could be more appealing to Arsenal, as they continue to seek additional quality in their squad to compete for major trophies.
At 25 years old, Gyokeres has been performing at a world-class level and is considered one of the top strikers in European football at the moment. His potential acquisition could potentially be the missing piece of the puzzle for Arsenal.
