According to a report, Arne Slot eager to secure the services of an “extraordinary” winger who is already highly impressed by Liverpool’s stature.

There is speculation that Liverpool may be considering a move for Jeremie Frimpong during the upcoming transfer window.

Jeremie Frimpong, who currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen, could potentially depart the club this summer, and Liverpool is said to be “extremely interested” in acquiring him.

Despite Leverkusen’s desire to retain Frimpong, his outstanding performances throughout the season have attracted significant attention from various clubs across Europe.

In addition to Frimpong, Liverpool is also keeping a close eye on Johan Bakayoko from PSV as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.

According to BILD via Sport Witness, there are reports suggesting that Jeremie Frimpong may be on the verge of leaving Bayer Leverkusen this season, with Liverpool actively monitoring the talented wing-back and considering a potential move in the summer.

Kyle Walker has praised the Dutchman, referring to him as ‘incredible’, for his significant contribution to Leverkusen’s successful Bundesliga-winning campaign this season.

Playing on the right, he managed to produce 16 goals and assists, helping the club secure their first-ever German top-flight title in a remarkable fashion.

As Leverkusen gears up for UEFA Champions League football and their title defense, Xabi Alonso undoubtedly wants to retain one of his key players.

However, it’s no surprise that Frimpong has caught the attention of top clubs across Europe, given his impressive performances.

Liverpool, in particular, has shown a keen interest in securing a deal for Jeremie Frimpong. With Arne Slot aiming to make his mark at Anfield, the club is actively pursuing the talented player.

While Alonso was initially considered Liverpool’s top choice to replace Jurgen Klopp as the manager, he opted to remain with the Bundesliga champions and their promising young squad. Consequently, Arne Slot emerged as the coach to lead Liverpool forward.

Frimpong, who has openly praised Liverpool as a top club, excelled under Alonso’s management during the Spaniard’s debut season in charge. It appears that he may be on his way to Merseyside, with the Reds preparing to pursue the 23-year-old.

Leverkusen will undoubtedly make every effort to retain Frimpong this summer, but there is concern regarding the Dutchman’s contract. He is said to have a release clause of just €40 million, which is due to expire on Friday, June 14 – the opening day of Euro 2024.

As the Euros approach and Frimpong is expected to take on a more attacking role in the Dutch national team, Leverkusen also fear that other clubs will show interest if he continues to shine on the big stage.

Aside from Liverpool, other clubs eyeing the versatile winger’s signature include Manchester United and Bayern Munich. However, reports suggest that Bayern are hesitant to pursue the Bundesliga talent.

Johan Bakayoko is also a player that Liverpool is keeping an eye on. The Premier League club is actively searching for a new winger, especially with Mohamed Salah’s potential departure in the near future.

Alongside Frimpong, Bakayoko has emerged as a potential target for Liverpool, as he has garnered attention from various clubs across Europe due to his impressive performances for PSV in the Netherlands.

Despite Burnley and Brentford’s failed attempts to secure his signature last year, it appears that they may have missed their opportunity, as Bakayoko is now being heavily linked with a move to one of Europe’s top clubs.

This is largely due to his remarkable record of 14 goals and 14 assists in 48 games for PSV this season.

During an exclusive conversation, Ben Jacobs revealed to GIVEMESPORT that Liverpool’s potential pursuit of the winger is worth keeping an eye on this summer.

According to him, “Bakayoko is a player that Liverpool has been monitoring, but it’s important to note that clubs scout numerous players, so we’ll have to wait and see if anything comes of it.

“Despite Liverpool making a trip to Brazil in November, they ultimately decided against signing Luis Guilherme, and it seems like West Ham is leading the race to secure his services.”
