A journalist has indicated that a ‘world-class’ player is now significantly interested in making a move to Liverpool, as his priorities have shifted.

As of now, Liverpool has not secured any new signings during this summer transfer window, but that situation may soon alter.

The club is reportedly highly interested in acquiring Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

Currently, Zubimendi is viewed as Liverpool’s primary target for the midfield position; however, negotiating this transfer is expected to be challenging.

Real Sociedad is making significant efforts to retain Zubimendi, but those attempts might ultimately prove unsuccessful.

Dean Jones, while appearing on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, indicated that Liverpool’s interest has caught Martin Zubimendi’s attention.

However, he emphasized that this potential transfer is not guaranteed.

Jones elaborated on the situation regarding the ‘world-class’ midfielder, stating, “The significant development over the past day or so is that Liverpool is keen on acquiring Martin Zubimendi, and he is certainly intrigued by the prospect.

However, I have refrained from getting too involved in the speculation, as I have been informed that the situation is not as straightforward as it may seem. It is by no means a certainty that Zubimendi will be joining Liverpool.”

The Zubimendi transfer should be straightforward. If Liverpool has indeed captured Zubimendi’s interest, finalizing a deal should not pose significant challenges.

The midfielder has a reasonable £50 million release clause in his contract, and if Liverpool is genuinely interested in acquiring the Spaniard, they could expedite the process by activating that clause.

Liverpool has previously engaged in similar transactions, as seen with the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, suggesting that a move for Zubimendi could follow the same pattern.
