Arsenal’s anticipated lineup against Bolton Wanderers may feature several new players, with Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly poised to make their full debuts.

Mikel Arteta is likely to implement significant changes following the challenging match at the Etihad on Sunday, allowing several fringe players to gain valuable playing time against Bolton on Wednesday night.

The team is still recovering from the demanding away fixture against Manchester City, which resulted in some players sustaining minor injuries.

In his pre-match press conference, Arteta addressed the team’s recovery status, stating, “Yes, fully recovered. It’s like a normal game.

It was obviously a very emotional game at the end, but they all are in different ways to the game we played on Sunday. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”

There are concerns regarding the fitness of Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber, who both suffered injuries that prevented them from finishing the last match.

Although Ben White played the entire second half, Arteta had previously indicated that he was reluctant to use the defender in the match against Manchester City.

Additionally, Raheem Sterling may also make his full debut for Arsenal. Arteta commented on the forward’s readiness, saying, “Very good.

He has had a few minutes already, and tomorrow he has another opportunity. He is ready; he is really hungry to add more minutes and impact the team in the way that he can, and hopefully, tomorrow, we can see that.”

Arteta expressed his pride in Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly, stating, “I’m very proud of them. They are navigating a situation that likely took them by surprise.

They have had the opportunity to play in two of the most iconic and challenging venues in the Premier League, and they both performed admirably.”

“Both of them are incredibly driven and demanding! They seek out every bit of information and are eager for more. Their passion is evident; they recognize the opportunity and are determined to seize it. They are a pleasure to work with.”

Regarding team selection, there is an exciting possibility for 16-year-old Jack Porter to make his debut.

With David Raya expected to miss this match due to injury, summer signing Tommy Setford unavailable, and Neto cup-tied, Porter may find himself starting in goal.

If Ben White and Timber recover from their respective issues, one of them could feature in the starting lineup; otherwise, Nichols may take their place.

Additionally, if Arteta opts to rest William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, Heaven could step into one of the central defensive roles. Jakub Kiwior is set to make his first start of the season, while Lewis-Skelly is anticipated to start at left-back.

Jorginho is expected to anchor the midfield, with Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand likely to fill in if Declan Rice requires a break, and Ethan Nwaneri taking the other midfield position.

Kai Havertz may be rested, allowing Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, and Bukayo Saka to form the front three.

Predicted Lineup (4-3-3): Porter; Nichols, Heaven, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Nwaneri, Jorginho, M’Hand; Saka, Jesus, Sterling.

The match against Bolton Wanderers could also provide a platform for promising academy talents Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly to make their full debuts.

Depending on the fitness levels of other players, there is a possibility that additional academy prospects, including Ayden Heaven, Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand, and Josh Nichols, may also feature in the starting lineup.
