PSG is set to make an £83 million bid for a “world-class” talented Arsenal player following an impressive performance against them in the Champions League…
PSG is currently working on a bid of £83 million to acquire a “world-class” player from Arsenal.
Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly preparing a significant £83 million offer to acquire a “world-class” player from Arsenal, following an impressive performance against them in the Champions League.
In a recent match, Arsenal secured a 2-0 victory over PSG, allowing Mikel Arteta to maintain an unbeaten record this season. The Gunners faced one of their toughest challenges yet but emerged victorious at the Emirates Stadium.
Goals from Kai Havertz, who skillfully headed in a cross from Leandro Trossard, and a free-kick from Bukayo Saka ensured a crucial win in the new Champions League format, drawing praise from spectators.
Arsenal quickly established a two-goal lead in the first half and effectively managed the game, demonstrating their defensive strength while creating several opportunities to increase their advantage.
Midfielder Thomas Partey excelled against PSG, winning all his duels, while Declan Rice also played a pivotal role in neutralizing Luis Enrique’s team with a commanding performance.
Interestingly, reports indicate that PSG has been keeping an eye on several of Arsenal’s standout players, including top defender William Saliba, who performed admirably alongside Gabriel Magalhaes against the French side.
The partnership between Saliba and Gabriel has been exceptional since the start of the 2022/2023 season, arguably making them the best center-back duo in the Premier League, a fact that has not gone unnoticed by PSG.
PSG’s interest in signing Saliba is shared by other major clubs, including Real Madrid, as top European teams seek to acquire elite defenders.
PSG is reportedly preparing a significant £83 million offer to acquire Saliba from Arsenal, despite the club’s current position of not wanting to sell.
However, sources suggest that such a substantial bid could prompt Arsenal to reconsider their stance.
Losing Saliba to PSG would be a considerable setback for the Gunners, but many believe that the likelihood of his departure is low at this time, given his crucial role in Arteta’s plans and the team’s pursuit of the title.
Ligue 1 expert Jonathan Johnson recently commented on the situation, stating, “Currently, whether it’s PSG, Real Madrid, or another elite European club, it’s difficult to envision them successfully luring Saliba away from Arsenal. He is one of their standout talents and ranks among the best defenders globally.
Following his impressive performance at the Euros, he has firmly established himself in the world-class category. With Mikel Arteta’s future now secured, Saliba is viewed as a vital asset that the Gunners aim to retain as a foundational player for the squad.
“For now, I don’t foresee any club making a move for Saliba while he remains integral to Arsenal’s ambitions. However, depending on how the season unfolds, there may arise a situation that allows top European clubs to explore his availability.”
