Mikel Arteta’s dream Arsenal team XI if Edu secures £80m double summer transfer…
Mikel Arteta’s ideal Arsenal starting lineup if Edu finalizes £80m double summer signing.
Mikel Arteta is eyeing a potential £80m double summer transfer to bolster his Arsenal squad.
Reports suggest that Benjamin Sesko and Victor Tsygankov are on Arteta’s radar as he aims to enhance the team’s attacking options.
After narrowly missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City, Arteta is keen on adding a new centre forward to his squad.
Despite finishing in second place, Arsenal showed great determination and pushed City until the very end of the season.
Arteta’s dream Arsenal XI could see Sesko and Tsygankov joining the ranks, providing the Gunners with added firepower and creativity in the upcoming season.
Arsenal is looking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season and are considering signing a striker during the summer transfer window.
Benjamin Sesko, who has been in impressive form for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, is one of the potential targets for the club. The 21-year-old has attracted interest from other teams like Chelsea and Manchester United as well.
Sesko has a release clause of €65million (£55m) in his current contract, but the competition between clubs could drive up the price.
Despite having four years left on his deal, Leipzig has offered new terms to the forward, who is also expected to represent Slovenia in Euro 2024.
Despite netting 91 goals in the Premier League – the second highest in the league after Manchester City – in the 2023/24 season, Arsenal could benefit from a natural goal scorer in their squad, and Sesko has demonstrated his potential to fill that role.
Acquiring him at his release clause could prove to be a smart investment, especially if he excels in England.
In addition, Arsenal may be looking to strengthen their right flank. While Bukayo Saka is the first-choice player in that position, the team lacks a suitable replacement in case of his absence due to injury.
Viktor Tsygankov from Girona has emerged as a potential candidate to join the Gunners this summer.
Tsygankov, aged 26, has contributed eight goals and seven assists for Girona this season, playing a key role in their qualification for the Champions League.
Reports suggest that Arsenal have already initiated contact to secure his signature. The Ukrainian midfielder has a release clause of €30m (£25.5m) in his contract.
Arteta envisions Tsygankov as a valuable addition to the Arsenal squad, especially with their upcoming participation in Europe’s top-tier club competition.
Considering his age and market value, acquiring Tsygankov would be a shrewd move.
However, it is important to note that despite his versatility as a right winger who can operate across the front line, he may not secure a starting position in the strongest and ideal starting XI for the upcoming season.
Taking this into account, football.london explores the potential Arsenal starting XI if both Sesko and Tsygankov were to join the team in the summer:
Potential Arsenal Starting XI with Sesko and Tsygankov: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Rice, Havertz, Odegaard; Martinelli, Sesko, Saka.
