Mike Dodds provides an optimistic Sunderland injury update ahead of the Swansea match, highlighting positive news regarding other players.

Sunderland will have to cope without three crucial players in their upcoming match against Swansea, however, head coach Mike Dodds has provided some positive updates regarding other team members.

Mike Dodds is optimistic about the injury situation at Sunderland as they prepare to face Swansea without three important players.

Jack Clarke and Patrick Roberts are both sidelined with ankle injuries, while Dan Ballard is serving a two-match suspension. This leaves Sunderland with a shortage of options.

However, Dodds has dismissed rumors on social media about Leo Hjelde being injured and confirmed that the Norwegian will be fit to play this weekend. Additionally, January signing Callum Styles will also be included in the squad.

Aji Alese, Bradley Dack, and Corry Evans have all returned to training this week. Dodds mentioned, “Corry trained with us this morning.

He’s been working with the Under-21s, but it’s good to see him back with the first team. Aji and Dacky also joined in, working partially with the sports science department and partially with us. It’s positive to have these players back on the training pitch.”

Bradley Dack, Aji Alese, and Corry Evans have returned to training as well. This week, Evans participated in first team drills.

Dodds remarked, “Corry trained with us this morning.” “He trained with us, but he’s been playing with the Under-21s,” I said.

I don’t want that to be taken too far by anyone. Even though Corry’s training was very much bit-part, it’s still good to have someone of his caliber in the locker room and on the training field.

Dacky and Aji were also absent. They participated in part-time training, working with us and the sports science department. The good news is that more people are coming back.

Mike Dodds on the Sunderland position: ‘I had not expressed interest previously, and my stance remains unchanged’.
