Despite our deserving victory today, Arsenal will undoubtedly face a tough challenge when they come to Etihad.
Man City’s Erling Haaland sends a strong message to Arsenal fans ahead of their clash next week, stating that despite Liverpool’s victory, Arsenal will suffer at Etihad. Haaland believes his team deserved to win today.
Liverpool’s performance against us has motivated Manchester City star Erling Haaland to send a strong message to Arsenal fans ahead of their upcoming clash next week.
Haaland believes that Arsenal is their main opponent to defeat, seeking revenge for their previous loss in the first leg.
The recent match between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield ended in a draw, leaving Arsenal at the top of the table and signaling the beginning of an intense competition for the title.
In the middle of the first half, City took the lead with a cleverly executed corner by Kevin De Bruyne, which was bundled in at the near post by John Stones. However, Liverpool continued to apply pressure and came close to equalizing when Luis Diaz fired wide.
Early in the second half, the Reds managed to grab an equalizer when Nathan Ake’s poor back pass was capitalized on by Darwin Nunez, who was brought down by Ederson. This allowed Alexis Mac Allister to calmly convert from the penalty spot.
Despite Liverpool’s missed opportunities, with Diaz failing to capitalize on two golden chances, and Stefan Ortega making a good save from Nunez after replacing the injured Ederson, City’s substitute Jeremy Doku struck the inside of the post from a difficult angle late in the game.
Furthermore, Doku survived a late VAR check after making contact with Mac Allister in the box.
