- BBC pundit praises Liverpool’s £35m player for his effortless performance against Bologna.
According to a BBC pundit, the £35 million Liverpool player showcased his exceptional skills against Bologna, making it seem effortless.
Liverpool secured a 2-0 victory over Bologna in the Champions League on Wednesday night, although the match was more challenging than the final score indicates.
In fact, Bologna outshot Liverpool during the game, requiring the Reds to put in significant effort to achieve the win.
Despite the hard-fought nature of the match, one player stood out by making his contributions appear seamless.
Ryan Gravenberch delivered an outstanding performance against Bologna, and Thomas Hitzlsperger expressed his admiration for the Dutch midfielder during the BBC’s Champions League highlights show.
Hitzlsperger noted that Gravenberch’s performance was remarkable, stating that he made the game seem effortless.
Ryan Gravenberch’s effortless display
Hitzlsperger commented on the £35m midfielder, saying, “It’s not an easy task, but when you watch Ryan Gravenberch, he makes it look simple. He is clearly enjoying his season under Arne Slot. He plays as the number six, and his teammates consistently look for him.”
“This reflects his current confidence. Even with his back to the play, he knows exactly what to do. If I were a manager, I might suggest he position himself a bit deeper at times, but Bologna provided the space. It’s quite impressive how he made it look so easy.”
Ryan Gravenberch is developing into a remarkable talent
This performance adds to a series of exceptional displays from Ryan Gravenberch this season.
The Dutch midfielder has been in outstanding form, even drawing comparisons to Patrick Vieira from Tim Sherwood.
He appears to be a footballer with a strong defensive mindset and a sense of responsibility on the field. I believe he possesses all the qualities necessary to excel in the number six position.
It seems as though he commands the pitch. When discussing the ability to break lines with a pass, he does so through his movement, Sherwood remarked.
“He has a complete skill set; when it’s time to disrupt the play, he does so effectively, and he manages the game’s tempo. That’s reminiscent of Patrick Vieira.
“Standing at six foot three, they have discovered a defensive midfielder who is thriving in this role, and I think their midfield is exceptional.
While Gravenberch still has a considerable journey ahead to reach Vieira’s level, he is undoubtedly progressing in a very encouraging direction.
If he maintains this level of performance, the Liverpool midfielder could be on the verge of achieving superstardom.
