Khvicha Kvaratskhelia reverses his transfer decision after Liverpool’s ‘interest’ in a massive deal.

Liverpool’s display of ‘interest’ in a massive transaction, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia performs a transfer U-turn.

Liverpool’s interest in a significant deal caught the attention of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has now made a surprising U-turn.

Reports suggest that the Napoli winger, who was a target for the Reds in their search for a wide attacker, has had a change of heart about leaving the club.

Despite Liverpool’s pursuit of a wide forward this summer, they have yet to secure a signing.

The potential move for England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle was a clear sign of their intentions, especially after Ben Jacobs emphasized the importance of signing a forward as their top priority.

However, negotiations did not materialize, and there has been little discussion about the transfer in recent weeks.

Nevertheless, there is a possibility that Gordon’s volume may start to rise. Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose agent previously mentioned the player’s desire to depart from the Serie A side, has been rumored to be a target for Liverpool.

However, a recent update from Corriere dello Sport suggests that the Georgian has had a change of heart.

Kvaratskhelia is said to be interested in committing to a long-term contract. With a reported weekly wage of just $31k (£25k/€30k), it is clear that he will be seeking improved terms.

Even if his salary were to double, FBRef data shows that he would still not be among Napoli’s top four earners.

The 23-year-old is currently tied to the club until 2027, meaning that any new deal would likely see him stay with the Serie A champions of 2022–2023 for at least the next five seasons.

Liverpool’s interest in the 34-cap international player was expected to cease due to financial constraints, as reported by various sources including the Evening Standard.

The potential transfer deal was already proving to be challenging due to the significant amount of money involved. It is plausible that the sale of Luis Díaz was necessary to fund the acquisition of a replacement player for the Colombian.

One might question the wisdom of swapping one player for another, especially considering that they are each other’s top statistical match on FBRef. The situation would change significantly if Díaz were to leave the club.

Rumors suggested that Napoli was adamant about not parting ways with Kvaratskhelia, while Victor Osimhen could potentially leave if a lucrative offer was presented.

Osimhen’s high weekly wage of $265k (£208k/€247k) could work in favor of the Georgian player during negotiations. It is clear that there is a substantial compensation package that could be on the horizon for him.

Despite the slim chance of relocating to Liverpool, Kvaratskhelia’s change of heart removes a possible option from the list. While it wasn’t probable before, it may now be even less so.
