Liverpool XI vs Wolves: confirmed lineup, team news and injuries today, Jota misses out; Nunez to start as Jurgen Klopp names his final Reds team…
Liverpool’s lineup against Wolves is expected to see Jota missing out, with Nunez likely to start.
Jurgen Klopp will announce his final team selection, hoping to have Andrew Robertson back from injury.
Robertson, who missed the previous match due to a knock, is expected to be available for the game.
However, the availability of Diogo Jota, who was seen training earlier this week, remains uncertain. Klopp will make the final decision on his inclusion based on his fitness.
“The German mentioned that he had seen him this morning and was informed that he would be ready to start training from tomorrow onwards. This is the current situation,” stated the German.
Earlier this week, Diogo Jota was observed participating in training sessions, although it is uncertain whether he will be sufficiently fit to play in any capacity.
Unfortunately, Klopp will be missing Joel Matip, Ben Doak, and Thiago Alcantara, but it is believed that the majority of his squad will be available.
On Friday, it was officially announced that both Matip and Thiago will be leaving the club this summer.
Anfield is expected to witness an emotional day as one of the club’s greatest ever managers bids farewell.
Klopp surprised the football community in January when he revealed his departure from Liverpool at the end of the season. Arne Slot has now been confirmed as his successor for the upcoming summer.
Projected Liverpool Starting XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Endo, Mac Allister; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz
Question marks: Jota, Robertson
Unavailable due to injury: Doak, Matip, Thiago
Scheduled time and date: 4pm BST on Sunday, May 19, 2024
Location: Anfield.
