Liverpool XI vs Sheffield United: Confirmed lineup, team news, injury latest for Premier League game…

Confirmed team news and injury updates for Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United at Anfield bring potential good news for Jurgen Klopp.

Jurgen Klopp could receive a double injury boost as Liverpool prepare to face Sheffield United at Anfield.

Curtis Jones is poised to make his return for tonight’s Premier League clash against the bottom-placed team. The midfielder has been sidelined since sustaining an ankle injury during the 4-1 victory over Brentford in February. However, he is now back in contention after resuming training at Kirkby this week.

Liverpool have maintained an unbeaten streak in the league for the past two months, with Jurgen Klopp leading the team through his final matches in charge.

On Sunday, Liverpool overtook Arsenal at the top of the table after their 2-1 victory against Brighton. However, Arsenal reclaimed the summit by defeating Luton on Wednesday, while Manchester City also secured a win against Aston Villa.

Liverpool now sits in second place, but they have the opportunity to regain the top spot with a win against Sheffield United.

It is crucial for Liverpool to secure a victory as a draw would not be sufficient due to Arsenal’s superior goal difference. Despite facing ongoing injury concerns, Klopp remains hopeful that his team can maintain their impressive form in the league.

Regarding Curtis, Klopp mentioned that he is back in full training and is in contention for the upcoming matches. However, it is uncertain whether he will be able to play the full 90 minutes or just a few.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, and Diogo Jota remain sidelined for Liverpool. Andy Robertson has recovered from an ankle problem, but Wataru Endo is under observation due to a recent knock.

Ahead of a crucial away match against Manchester United this Sunday, where they suffered a 4-3 defeat in the FA Cup last month, Klopp might consider resting Darwin Nunez against the Premier League’s bottom team.

Stefan Bajcetic is set to return to full training with Liverpool next week, while Thiago Alcantara, Ben Doak, and Joel Matip are still unavailable.

Projected Liverpool starting lineup (4-3-3): Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Gomez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo

Out: Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Jota, Thiago, Bajcetic, Matip, Doak

Questionable: Endo

Kick-off time and date: 7:30pm BST on Thursday, April 4, 2024

Location: Anfield.
