Liverpool XI vs. PSV: Possible Starting Lineup for final league phase fixture in the Champions League as Arne Slot could be tempted to rest his big players…

Liverpool’s lineup against PSV: Projected XI for the concluding match of the Champions League group stage.

Arne Slot may consider resting some key players as Liverpool heads to the Netherlands to take on PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Liverpool manager has most of his squad at his disposal during his return to his native country, facing the team that narrowly edged out his Feyenoord side for the Eredivisie title last season.

Only three players are unavailable for the league phase leaders, with Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez, and Diogo Jota dealing with injuries.

Jones exited the match against Lille at halftime last week, but Slot has indicated that the issue is not serious, suggesting he will be assessed again to determine if he can participate in this match or the crucial Premier League fixture against Bournemouth over the weekend.

Gomez and Jota are not yet ready to return but are expected to be back sometime next month, and for Slot’s benefit, he will hope that occurs during their busy schedule in the first two weeks of February.

Before the trip to Bournemouth, Slot might be inclined to rest prominent players like Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, with Salah aiming to increase his lead as Liverpool’s top scorer in European competitions, he may prefer to play.

Following Alisson’s recent return from injury, opportunities for Caoimhin Kelleher have diminished, making this a potential chance for the Irish goalkeeper to gain some playing time.

Slot can comfortably rotate at full-back and introduce Jarell Quansah, while he also has a wealth of attacking options available, including Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa, and Harvey Elliott, who netted the decisive goal against Lille last week.

Projected starting lineup for Liverpool:

Kelleher; Bradley, Quansah, Konate, Tsimikas; Endo, Szoboszlai, Elliott; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.
