Federico Chiesa has been registered in time for the match at Old Trafford, but his participation is doubtful.

Liverpool is not expected to give a debut to new acquisition Federico Chiesa in the highly anticipated match against Manchester United.

The Italian forward has joined Anfield on a budget-friendly deal following a series of injuries during his tenure at Juventus. He was registered before the midday deadline on Friday, making him eligible to play against the Red Devils.

However, Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, indicated in his pre-match press conference that Chiesa is unlikely to be included in the squad for this match.

“He will train with us today [Friday], but the likelihood is greater that he won’t be in the squad for Sunday,” Slot stated. “If any injuries arise in the next couple of days, we may need him, but I don’t anticipate his involvement.”

It is expected that the Liverpool head coach will maintain a consistent lineup after two solid 2-0 victories to start the season, defeating newly-promoted Ipswich and Brentford.

Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota have all found the net at least once this season, while Dominik Szoboszlai is thriving in a No10 position.

Jarell Quansah seems to have lost his place just 45 minutes into the season, so Ibrahima Konate is likely to retain his position in central defense.

Curtis Jones is sidelined due to injury, but the rest of the squad is fit and ready for one of Liverpool’s most significant matches of the season.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Salah, Diaz, Jota

Doubts: Jones, Chiesa.
