In the match against Girona, Liverpool’s lineup includes Diaz taking the place of Nunez, while Alisson is available for selection.

In their upcoming Champions League encounter at Estadi Montilivi on Tuesday, Luis Diaz will take the place of Darwin Nunez in the starting eleven.

Liverpool has achieved a perfect record with five victories in five UEFA Champions League matches and aims to secure another three points against Girona.

However, manager Arne Slot will be without several key players, including Conor Bradley (hamstring), Ibrahima Konate (knee), and Kostas Tsimikas (ankle).

Additionally, Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota, and Tyler Morton are still in recovery from their injuries and are not fit to participate.

On a positive note, Liverpool will see the return of Alisson Becker, who has recovered from a hamstring injury.

Slot commented on the goalkeeper’s return during his pre-match press briefing, stating, “Having Alisson back is significant; he has been exceptional for both this club and the Brazil national team over the years.”

Despite his return, Alisson may not have the match fitness required to start against Girona, but he could still be included in the squad.

Liverpool is expected to adopt a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Caoimhin Kelleher remaining in goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will occupy the full-back positions, contributing to both defense and attack, while Joe Gomez will partner with Virgil van Dijk in central defense.

In the midfield, Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch are set to operate in a double pivot, aiming to enhance the team’s creativity, control, and composure.

Dominik Szoboszlai will take on the role of attacking midfielder, focusing on generating goal-scoring chances for his teammates in the attacking third.

On the flanks, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will occupy their familiar positions, looking to contribute both creativity and goals from the wide areas.

Cody Gakpo will spearhead the attack for Liverpool against Girona, while Darwin Nunez will start on the bench.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Gakpo.
