Liverpool transfer update: Liam Delap has been identified as a key target as the effort to acquire Omar Marmoush hits setback…
Liverpool transfer news indicates that the club is among several interested parties in acquiring Liam Delap, while their efforts to sign Omar Marmoush appear to have encountered a hurdle.
With the January transfer window set to open in less than 24 hours, speculation grows regarding Liverpool’s potential activity in the upcoming market.
As they approach 2025, the Reds enjoy an eight-point advantage at the top of the Premier League and remain strong contenders in both the Champions League and Carabao Cup, reflecting positively on manager Arne Slot’s leadership.
However, off-field issues loom, particularly concerning the futures of key players such as Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah.
The club must also assess whether to make strategic moves in January to bolster their title aspirations.
Regarding Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, reports suggest that Arsenal has made inquiries about his availability, potentially giving them a competitive edge over Liverpool, as noted by Caught Offside.
Marmoush has reportedly been dissatisfied with recent contract negotiations with Frankfurt, who are eager to extend his contract despite the ongoing transfer rumors.
This situation has attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Arsenal, while Liverpool and Chelsea are said to be monitoring the situation closely.
Aston Villa and Newcastle are also identified as possible contenders.
According to Liverpool.com, it seems likely that Marmoush will secure a significant transfer soon, but the destination remains uncertain.
Given his impressive performances this season and his versatility as a center-forward, Liverpool should certainly consider him, especially with rival clubs showing interest.
The chance to play alongside his international teammate, Mohamed Salah, could also be a compelling factor.
Liam Delap (Ipswich)
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool is among several clubs interested in Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.
In addition to Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City are also keen on the player, with Manchester City retaining a buy-back option following his sale last summer.
Despite Ipswich’s challenges this season, Delap has stood out, scoring seven goals in the league.
He made a significant contribution in his team’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea, converting a penalty and assisting Omari Hutchinson’s goal.
Liverpool.com notes that Delap’s performance against Chelsea is likely to have caught the attention of Liverpool scouts.
However, signing a striker with limited experience in the Premier League and still developing would be a considerable risk.
