Liverpool star player missing from training (not Jota and Alisson Becker) ahead of Champions League match against RB Leipzig – report…
Liverpool player was reported missing from training ahead of the Champions League match against RB Leipzig, excluding Jota.
According to reports, a Liverpool player, not including Jota, was absent from training sessions leading up to the Champions League clash against RB Leipzig.
Liverpool is set to travel to Germany for a Champions League encounter with RB Leipzig on Wednesday evening.
The team is riding high after a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, which has propelled them to the top of the league standings.
With matches coming in quick succession, it poses a challenge for Arne Slot to ensure consistent performance across all competitions.
Liverpool has secured victories in both of their Champions League fixtures thus far, and Slot will be eager for his team to continue this positive trend in Germany.
However, the squad is facing significant injury concerns ahead of the match.
Liverpool may be without five players
Diogo Jota sustained a rib injury during the recent match against Chelsea, raising doubts about his availability for the Leipzig clash.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Jota has not participated in training leading up to the game.
Additionally, summer signing Federico Chiesa was also absent from training, making his participation unlikely.
Conor Bradley is sidelined due to an injury incurred while on international duty, and he may be out for several weeks.
Harvey Elliott and Alisson Becker are also unavailable due to injuries.
Arne Slot may consider squad rotation
To keep his players fresh, Slot will need to effectively rotate his squad. In defense, Jarrell Quansah and Kostas Tsimikas are likely to be given starting roles.
With Jota out, Darwin Nunez is expected to take the field, presenting him with a significant opportunity to make an impact.
The Uruguayan striker will need to capitalize on this chance to contribute goals for his team.
It will be intriguing to observe whether Slot opts to begin with Wataru Endo.
Ryan Gravenberch has performed exceptionally well this season, yet he could benefit from some rest. Endo has the potential to fill in effectively during his absence.
