Liverpool’s star player may be sidelined for the next two matches, as Arne Slot has confirmed a definite starter for the upcoming game against West Ham.

Liverpool star may miss upcoming two matches as Arne Slot confirms starting goalkeeper against West Ham.

Arne Slot has provided an injury update for Liverpool ahead of the Carabao Cup third-round match against West Ham United scheduled for tomorrow.

The Reds will kick off their title defense at Anfield, facing a challenging encounter against a Premier League opponent.

In last Saturday’s 3-0 win over AFC Bournemouth, Alisson Becker was unavailable due to a muscle injury, leading to Caoimhin Kelleher stepping in as goalkeeper, helping Liverpool achieve their fourth clean sheet in five Premier League games.

For the upcoming match against West Ham, Slot has confirmed that Alisson will remain out, with Kelleher starting once more.

However, the Liverpool head coach has indicated that Alisson’s availability for the Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday is also uncertain, and his condition will be assessed closer to the match day.

During his pre-match press conference, Slot stated: “Caoim will definitely be in goal. Alisson is making progress, but this match is a bit too soon for him.

We are monitoring his situation for the weekend against Wolves, but it will be a close call. Caoim will be our goalkeeper tomorrow, that’s certain.”

Additionally, Harvey Elliott continues to be sidelined with a fractured foot and is expected to be out for approximately a month.

Slot has also indicated plans to rotate the starting lineup, with players like Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez, and Jarell Quansah likely to receive playing time.

Klopp remarked: “I want all players to participate, but that’s not feasible. We will field the best possible team, which may mean that some players who have been heavily involved could be a bit fatigued.

They will come in today to assess their fitness, and then I will decide who will start.”
