Liverpool possible XI vs Norwich City: Five major changes made as trio return…
Liverpool’s anticipated starting lineup against Norwich City is expected to undergo significant alterations, with five key changes being made. The return of a formidable £141m trio adds further excitement to the mix.
Liverpool’s starting lineup against Norwich has been confirmed, and it will be Jurgen Klopp’s first game since his surprising announcement about leaving the club at the end of the season.
With the FA Cup match taking place at Anfield today, Klopp has some decisions to make regarding his team selection. Despite initial doubts about his availability due to a knee injury, Trent Alexander-Arnold was seen training at Kirkby on Friday, indicating that he may feature in the game.
Jurgen Klopp faces several decisions regarding his team selection for Liverpool’s upcoming FA Cup match against Norwich at Anfield. This will be Klopp’s first game since he surprised everyone by announcing his departure at the end of the summer.
On Friday, Trent Alexander-Arnold was seen training at Kirkby, despite initial doubts from Klopp about his availability due to a knee injury. It seems that Alexander-Arnold is making progress towards his comeback.
Meanwhile, Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai have been labeled as “touch and go” by Klopp. However, there are indications that they are getting closer to returning to the pitch. Robertson, the Scottish full-back, was on the bench but remained unused in the Carabao Cup match against Fulham earlier this week.
Klopp may choose to keep some or all of the returning trio on the sidelines in order to gradually reintegrate them before the match against Chelsea on Wednesday and the Premier League title clash against Arsenal next weekend.
Both Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley have been impressive as full-backs recently, so a decision will need to be made on how to accommodate them alongside Robertson and Alexander-Arnold.
Liverpool, who are currently in good form, also have a number of midfield options to consider. Curtis Jones and teenager Bobby Clark are both pushing for a starting position.
In the forward line, Diogo Jota was among the substitutes in the previous match against Fulham and could be included in the starting lineup this afternoon.
Klopp is likely to select a strong starting lineup for the fourth-round tie in order to avoid any surprises or the need for a replay. However, there may be a chance for several young players to feature on the bench, hoping to get some minutes towards the end of the game.
Predicted Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Mac Allister, Jones; Gakpo, Nunez, Jota
There is some uncertainty regarding Alexander-Arnold’s availability, while Thiago, Bajcetic, Matip, Tsimikas, Salah, and Doak are currently injured. Additionally, Salah and Endo are unavailable for the match.
The match is scheduled to take place at Anfield on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 2:30pm GMT.
