Liverpool has initiated a surprising deal involving a 23-year-old winger from Mexico.

The president of the club has revealed that Liverpool has taken an unexpected interest in a 23-year-old winger from Mexico.

In a surprising development, the president of the club has confirmed that Liverpool is pursuing a 23-year-old Mexican winger.

Liverpool made inquiries regarding a surprising transfer for 23-year-old Mexican winger Cesar Huerta this summer, as confirmed by the president of Liga MX club Pumas UNAM.

Both the coach and president indicated that the Reds were interested in their promising attacker, who scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in the previous Liga MX season.

Reports from Mexico suggest that Liverpool also considered loaning the forward to Sunderland.

UNAM’s head coach, Gustavo Lema, stated this week, “Huerta was scouted by one of the top clubs in the world, which is a point of pride for us.

What can we say? You have a player who has attracted the attention of Liverpool. Fans want success, and that is their right. We cannot offer any excuses.”

In response to inquiries about why the transfer did not materialize, UNAM president Luis Raul Gonzalez Perez explained, “The situation was not related to the club or Huerta’s willingness; rather, it was due to external factors affecting the teams involved.

I emphasize that this was not a reflection of Huerta’s talent, but rather circumstances beyond our control.”

This was not the only transfer that fell through, as Martin Zubimendi opted to remain with Real Sociedad despite Liverpool having arranged a deal with the club and agreed upon personal terms with the player.

However, the midfielder decided to stay at the last moment.

Nevertheless, Liverpool successfully secured two significant signings before the transfer window closed, acquiring Federico Chiesa from Juventus and Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, although the latter will continue with his current club for the season.

New manager Arne Slot expressed no worries about the lack of additional signings, stating, “Our primary focus is to work with the players we have.

“While it is a disadvantage that many are not yet here, it also provides us with an opportunity to evaluate the younger talent.”

The club has a significant pathway for young players to develop. We maintain very high standards in our recruitment of new talent.

“Naturally, Richard (Hughes) and I are focused on enhancing the squad whenever we can.”
