Liverpool leading transfer race to sign £48m teenage Brazilian sensation who is keen on joining Liverpool…
Liverpool is leading the way in the race to secure the services of a highly-rated Brazilian teenage sensation for a fee of £48 million, with reports indicating that the player is keen on a switch to Anfield.
Liverpool is currently in pole position to secure the services of a highly sought-after Brazilian prodigy, with a reported transfer fee of £48 million.
The talented teenager has expressed a strong preference for a move to Anfield, giving Liverpool an edge over their Premier League counterparts, Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, both Chelsea and Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation and remain potential contenders for the young star’s signature.
The player in question, Luis Guilherme, has been a subject of interest from various top European clubs for quite some time now. Liverpool, in their pursuit of this promising 18-year-old forward from Palmeiras, will have to fend off competition from their rivals to secure his services.
Luis Guilherme broke into Palmeiras’ first team last season, featuring in 19 matches in the Brazilian Serie A, mostly as a substitute. He also played in the Copa Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil.
Liverpool is currently in the lead to sign Luis Guilherme. The Brazilian under-20 international has not scored at the senior level yet but has been highly successful in the youth leagues. Palmeiras youth director Joao Paulo Sampaio expressed great enthusiasm about Guilherme’s potential.
Sampaio mentioned, “We played in a tournament in Japan where Luis scored over 40 goals. The Japanese players were intimidated by him. However, Luis remains grounded and aware of his capabilities. He is a truly exceptional player.”
Guilherme reportedly has a release clause of £48m in his contract, which he extended in November to stay with the club until 2026. This is not the first time that Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City have shown interest in Guilherme. All three clubs were linked with him towards the end of the Brazilian season last year.
Bayern Munich’s interest was reported earlier, followed by Manchester City’s in December. Liverpool was then rumored to be leading the race in February. It seems like there might be an agent trying to generate interest repeatedly.
