Liverpool is set to present an impressive offer to secure a phenomenal striker as an ambitious triple transfer plan comes into play…
Liverpool is reportedly preparing an impressive offer to acquire Eintracht Frankfurt’s rising star, Omar Marmoush, ahead of the January transfer window.
Additionally, Reds manager Arne Slot is aiming for a dual midfield acquisition, although it appears that the second signing may need to be postponed until the summer.
Since taking over from Jurgen Klopp this summer, the Dutch manager has seamlessly adapted to his new role, achieving 14 victories in 16 matches across all competitions.
This remarkable performance positions Liverpool at the top of the Premier League as they head into this weekend’s fixtures, and they remain the only team with a perfect record in the Champions League.
While it may be early in the season, Slot has effectively dispelled doubts regarding the challenges of succeeding Klopp, fostering optimism among fans that at least one trophy could be secured during his inaugural season.
To enhance his chances of achieving this goal, Slot has reportedly approved plans for squad enhancements in January.
The only significant addition over the summer was Federico Chiesa, who has seen limited playing time with just 78 minutes on the pitch.
Slot is now focused on strengthening the midfield, with indications that a deal for Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni is nearing completion, and the club is assessing the financial requirements to secure the French midfielder.
However, according to Fichajes, Liverpool’s initial signing in January may originate from the Bundesliga, as the club is set to make an extraordinary offer of β¬70 million (Β£58.1 million, $75.1 million) for Frankfurt’s Marmoush.
The Egyptian forward has made an impressive impact this season, contributing to 22 goals (13 goals and nine assists) in just 15 matches.
This performance highlights his exceptional talent and reinforces why the Bundesliga club wisely turned down a Β£25m (β¬30m, $32.3m) bid from Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window.
Reports suggest that such a substantial offer from the Reds might tempt Frankfurt to consider selling the 25-year-old, who is also known for his proficiency in free-kick situations.
Additionally, Liverpool is reportedly planning a third attempt in January to acquire Sunderland’s Chris Rigg, having learned the financial requirements to secure the midfielder’s transfer from Wearside.
Frankfurt has issued a warning regarding Marmoush, while Liverpool must remain patient regarding the midfielder’s situation.
Sources indicate that Sunderland aims to retain their teenage talent until at least the summer transfer window, as the club is opposed to selling a player who has become integral to their squad, currently leading the Championship and aiming for a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2017.
However, with interest in the 17-year-old also coming from Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, there is a belief that Sunderland may struggle to fend off offers for the promising midfielder if they do not achieve promotion.
If that scenario unfolds, Liverpool is anticipated to be a significant contender in the bidding for Rigg, with their scouts closely monitoring his development in the interim.
Regarding Marmoush, Slot is reportedly eager to enhance his attacking options, particularly as Darwin Nunez has not solidified his position as a first-choice player and Diogo Jota has been sidelined for the last five matches due to injury, with a return not expected until December.
Despite speculation that a substantial offer from Liverpool could compel Frankfurt to sell, their sporting director Markus Krosche remains firm in stating that their star player is satisfied at Deutsche Bank Park.
I am clearly pleased that he continues to find the back of the net. It seems that Omar is comfortable in this environment, so we shouldn’t constantly focus on the transfer window or potential transfers, he stated to the German media.
Liverpool is reportedly optimistic about securing a deal for Tchouameni in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Reds missed out on signing him when he joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.
Although he has achieved seven major titles at the Bernabeu, his situation may be deteriorating as Carlo Ancelotti appears to be questioning his performance, and fans have expressed their discontent during a recent Champions League match against AC Milan.
With Florentino Perez setting a price for a potential transfer, Liverpool is believed to have informed Slot that funds are available to acquire the right player, especially as Tchouameni has reportedly indicated his willingness to make the move.
Additionally, it has come to light that another midfield opportunity has arisen, with claims that AC Milan has proposed a swap deal involving a seldom-used winger in exchange for one of their most adaptable midfielders.
On a different note, negotiations to secure a new contract for Alexander-Arnold seem to have encountered significant challenges.
A recent report indicates that discussions regarding his contract extension have faced a major setback, increasing the likelihood of Real Madrid acquiring the Reds’ vice-captain on a free transfer, with a January move also becoming more plausible.
Marmoush’s statistics reflect a player performing at an exceptional level.
