Liverpool is expected to make a significant financial commitment to secure a forward capable of transforming their performance on the pitch.

Reports suggest that Liverpool may be willing to make a major financial commitment to bring in a forward who can significantly influence the game.

Under the ownership of FSG, Liverpool has not typically been known for extravagant spending. However, there are indications that they may be willing to invest heavily to retain a forward who can have a substantial impact on the game.

Mohamed Salah is now in the final nine months of his contract at Anfield, and unless the club manages to negotiate a new agreement before January, he will be free to discuss terms with other teams.

Mick Brown, a former chief scout for Manchester United, shared his insights with Football Insider, suggesting that Liverpool will prioritize keeping the Egyptian star due to his critical role in the squad.

Brown stated, “I believe Liverpool will go all out to ensure he stays. Among left-footed players operating on the right, he stands out as the best. Without Mo Salah, Liverpool is not the same team we have come to know.”

“He has the ability to change the course of a match in an instant. When the team is facing challenges, they can rely on him to create opportunities. His influence on their style of play is immense.”

“I would expect them to be eager to secure his future. They will likely make every effort to finalize a new contract before he potentially leaves for Saudi Arabia without a transfer fee.”

As reported by Capology, Salah is Liverpool’s highest-paid player, earning £350,000 per week, which is nearly double that of their third-highest earner, Trent Alexander-Arnold, who receives £180,000 weekly.

With Salah approaching 33 years old just before his current contract expires next June, the rationale behind further increasing his salary may be questioned. Generally, it is uncommon for a player in their mid-30s to command such a high wage.

Nevertheless, in the case of Liverpool’s number 11, traditional norms may not apply. He is a rare talent whose goal-scoring prowess is seldom seen at Anfield, making him an invaluable asset.

Salah’s decline is inevitable, but there are currently no indications that it will occur in the near future.

His explosive performance at the beginning of this season has resulted in five goals and four assists across eight matches, making him Liverpool’s joint-top scorer and their leading contributor in terms of overall goals (Transfermarkt).

Despite the impressive depth and talent that Arne Slot has at his disposal among the forwards, the Egyptian King remains a class above the rest.

His recent and historical performances have certainly justified the need for a new contract. If he is willing to remain, Liverpool must ensure he is secured with an extended agreement.
