Anfield could see a €60m investment from Liverpool to acquire a 16-goal/assist star, according to reports.

Liverpool is reportedly prepared to spend €60 million to acquire the services of 16-goal/assist star Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta, as per Corriere dello Sport (page 8).

The Reds significantly strengthened their midfield last season by signing Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch.

The club is actively seeking new players to strengthen their squad, and according to Corriere dello Sport, they are ready to challenge Napoli and Juventus in the pursuit of Koopmeiners.

The Dutch midfielder has expressed his desire to leave Atalanta this summer, stating that he would even be willing to endure the rain to join certain Premier League clubs.

While Napoli and Juventus are also interested in his services, the financial capabilities of English top-flight clubs surpass those of the Italian giants.

Liverpool has been closely monitoring Koopmeiners and is prepared to invest €60m, which is the current asking price.

Koopmeiners, a 26-year-old left-footed midfielder, has showcased his ability to play in various positions. While he initially started his career at AZ as a number six, he has excelled in both the number eight and number 10 roles this season.

Liverpool sees Koopmeiners’ versatility as a valuable asset and believes he would be an excellent addition to their team.

The Dutch international has been impressive, contributing 12 goals and four assists in 34 appearances this season. Notably, he has displayed an impressive scoring rate, finding the back of the net with every fourth shot on goal.

He has been averaging nearly two key passes per game. Along with his work rate, positioning, and high pressing, these are some of his notable strengths. We believe he would seamlessly adapt to the current playing style of the club.

Potential changes in tactics may occur once manager Jurgen Klopp departs. Any potential move for Koopmeiners may be delayed until a new head coach is officially appointed by the hierarchy.

The board is keen on having the Dutchman join the team before the start of pre-season. Koopmeiners could potentially fill the void left by the injury-prone Thiago Alcantara, whose contract is set to expire in June.
