Liverpool’s latest report reveals that Federico Chiesa is preparing for negotiations ahead of a possible January transfer

Federico Chiesa is poised for discussions regarding a potential departure from Liverpool in January.

According to reports from Liverpool, Federico Chiesa is poised to engage in talks concerning his exit in January.

The Italian winger has yet to start a Premier League match since joining the Reds, having made only one appearance in the league.

Chiesa’s transfer from Juventus was initially celebrated by Italian media, who believed the Serie A club had erred in allowing him to leave.

Alasdair Mackenzie, an expert on Italian football for FourFourTwo, suggested that joining Liverpool could provide Chiesa with the fresh start he requires at this stage of his career.

Unfortunately, this has not materialized as anticipated.

Chiesa’s playing time has been limited to just 18 minutes against Bournemouth in the Premier League, 59 minutes in the League Cup against West Ham United, and a mere minute as a substitute against AC Milan in the Champions League.

Despite this minimal exposure, he has recorded one assist against West Ham.

However, following a series of injuries during his tenure at Juventus, the 27-year-old has struggled to adapt to Arne Slot’s style of play and has been absent from the last four league matchday squads.

According to Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo, it appears “nearly impossible” for Chiesa to improve his standing within the team at this moment.

Reports from Sport Witness indicate that negotiations regarding his exit are expected to begin soon, with both Como and Milan expressing interest in the player, who signed a contract with Liverpool lasting until 2028.
