Liverpool’s contract priorities have come to light, particularly in relation to the speculation surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid.

Liverpool’s management is actively working to secure a new deal for Alexander-Arnold, given the recent Real Madrid links.

Reports indicate that securing Alexander-Arnold’s contract is a key objective for Liverpool amid transfer rumors.

As Real Madrid eyes Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool is keen on ensuring his long-term commitment to the team.

The contract situations of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are still uncertain.

However, Liverpool has received a definitive indication regarding which contract negotiations should take precedence.

Over 4,000 readers of the Liverpool ECHO participated in a recent survey concerning the club’s transfer activities and the challenges ahead at Anfield.

The feedback from fans regarding the Reds’ summer dealings was varied: while 53.5% expressed satisfaction, 35% were dissatisfied, and only 11.5% were “very happy” with the efforts of FSG.

When it comes to potential signings, fans were clear about their preferences: 45% believe a stronger defense is necessary; 39% are calling for a new midfielder following the failed pursuit of Martin Zubimendi; 13% feel the current squad is adequately balanced, and a mere 2% see a need for an additional attacker.

However, these opinions may shift next summer if Salah, Van Dijk, or Alexander-Arnold do not extend their contracts at Anfield.

All three players have contracts that expire in the summer of 2025, and it remains uncertain who will still be part of Liverpool when the 2025/26 season commences.

While Salah has been the focal point of attention, the results from the ECHO poll suggest that FSG should prioritize securing a new deal for Alexander-Arnold.

Among the thousands surveyed, 49% identified the England right-back as the top priority for a new contract.

Salah follows with 35% of the votes, while Van Dijk, despite being the club captain, received only 15%.

The future of Alexander-Arnold is still unclear, as Spanish publication Sport has recently reported that Real Madrid is interested in acquiring the defender on a free transfer in 2025.

Like Salah and Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold will be eligible to negotiate with foreign clubs starting January 1, potentially leading to a free transfer next summer.

In recent years, Real Madrid has developed a trend of acquiring high-profile players on free transfers, including David Alaba in 2021, Antonio Rudiger in 2022, and Kylian Mbappe, all of whom joined Los Blancos after their contracts ended with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.
