Liverpool is getting closer to acquiring a transfer valued at €45-50 million, putting them in a leading position over Arsenal and Chelsea in the target’s pursuit.

Liverpool is reportedly gaining momentum in the pursuit of River Plate’s highly sought-after young talent, Franco Mastantuono, who has also drawn interest from several elite clubs.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder is viewed as a promising prospect with the potential for a successful career in Europe, although it remains uncertain which club will ultimately secure his services.

Recent reports from CaughtOffside indicate that both Arsenal and Chelsea have been closely observing Mastantuono, who is anticipated to be valued between €45-50 million.

However, additional prominent clubs have now joined the competition.

According to Spanish publication Todo Fichajes, Liverpool is currently in a strong position to finalize a deal for the Argentine teenager, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also showing interest.

The report highlights that while Real Madrid and Barcelona were the initial clubs to approach Mastantuono, Liverpool now appears to be leading the race for his signature.

Mastantuono transfer: Is a Premier League move on the horizon for the River Plate star?

Liverpool could be an attractive option for Mastantuono, as manager Arne Slot is building an exciting squad that aims to compete for both the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.

However, given Liverpool’s existing attacking depth, Mastantuono might find it more advantageous for his development to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Arsenal, which has been in need of creativity within its squad, could provide Mastantuono with an immediate role, while Chelsea has shown a strong commitment to developing young talent and focusing on long-term growth.

Ultimately, Mastantuono may consider Real Madrid as the most appealing choice, given the success of other young South American players at the club.

Talents like Vinicius Junior, Endrick, and Fede Valverde have all flourished at the Bernabeu and could serve as excellent role models to assist Mastantuono in his transition.
