Recent updates on Liverpool’s transfer activities highlight interest in Sporting Lisbon winger Geovany Quenda and Borussia Dortmund forward Jamie Gittens.
With the January transfer window approaching, Liverpool is linked to various potential signings.
The new year will officially commence in just over a month, coinciding with the opening of the transfer market for Premier League teams.
Arne Slot’s squad has made a strong start to the season, with a victory over Real Madrid solidifying their position at the top of the Champions League standings.
Additionally, Liverpool holds an eight-point advantage in the Premier League as they prepare to face Manchester City.
As a busy schedule of matches looms, speculation regarding Liverpool’s transfer activities in January is intensifying.
It remains uncertain whether these rumors will materialize into actual moves or if they are simply conjecture, but clarity is expected in the coming months.
In light of this, the ECHO examines the latest transfer news and rumors surrounding Liverpool that have emerged in the past 24 hours.
Liverpool is reportedly interested in signing Sporting Lisbon’s Geovany Quenda.
According to TEAMtalk, the club is set to compete with Manchester United for the 17-year-old’s services ahead of the January transfer window.
The report indicates that Quenda’s agent, Jorge Mendes, intends to initiate discussions with interested clubs in the upcoming weeks.
Liverpool is identified as one of those clubs, alongside Manchester City and RB Leipzig, with Paris Saint-Germain also mentioned as a possible destination.
Liverpool is reportedly exploring the possibility of acquiring Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.
As per Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger, the club is monitoring the 20-year-old’s situation at Dortmund with intentions to pursue the promising forward in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The report indicates that Liverpool will encounter competition from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea in their efforts to secure Gittens.
It is suggested that Dortmund would require a minimum fee of €100 million (£83 million) at the end of the season before considering any offers for the young talent.
Gittens is under contract with Dortmund until the summer of 2028, having signed a new agreement last year.
It is believed that this contract does not feature a release clause, which means that Liverpool and any other interested parties must meet Dortmund’s financial demands to facilitate a transfer.
