Liverpool has shown interest in acquiring the services of Leny Yoro from Lille. However, the potential transfer will be contingent upon the negotiation of the asking price.

Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Lille’s Leny Yoro, an 18-year-old center back, as they aim to bolster their defense this summer.

However, any potential transfer will hinge on the asking price that Lille demands for the talented defender.

It’s not just Liverpool eyeing Yoro, as both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also keen on securing his services. The Reds have been closely monitoring Yoro’s progress, but face stiff competition from the French and Spanish giants in the race for his signature.

Despite Liverpool’s interest, it seems that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are currently ahead in the pursuit of Yoro. Both clubs are actively involved in negotiations to secure the young defender’s services, although the exact asking price remains unknown to all parties involved.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool have the opportunity to secure the signing of 18-year-old Lille defender Leny Yoro this summer, but it could come at a cost of £85m. Le Parisien has also reported that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the young center-back.

With new head coach Arne Slot set to take charge in June, Liverpool faces an important summer ahead. The departure of Joel Matip, whose contract has expired, may make the defense a priority in the upcoming transfer window.

In addition to Yoro, Liverpool has been linked with several other players over the past year, including Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen, Willian Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt, Goncalo Inacio from Sporting CP, and Levi Colwill from Chelsea. Recent reports suggest that the club may focus on targeting young players with great potential.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool now has an opportunity to secure the young player as Real Madrid has not been able to reach an agreement, allowing other top European clubs to enter the race.

Yoro’s impressive development has attracted the interest of Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and PSG.

At just 18 years old, Yoro has experienced a remarkable ascent in Ligue 1 with Lille. He progressed through their youth system and signed his first professional contract in 2022. Shortly after, towards the end of the 2021/22 season, he made his debut for Lille’s senior team at the age of 16.

If he were to move to Liverpool, he would be alongside fellow countryman Ibrahima Konate in the Reds’ defensive lineup.

However, L’Equipe has hinted that Yoro could envision himself at the Bernabeu, following the path of Raphael Varane, who also joined Real Madrid at 18 years old.

Yoro Set to Depart Lille

Conflicting reports have emerged regarding Lille’s anticipated asking price for Yoro, with Le Parisien indicating that the Ligue 1 club will demand a fee ranging from €90m-€100m (£85m) for the player. On the other hand, TEAMtalk suggests that he could potentially be available for a lower price of around £50m.

The higher asking price appears to be quite substantial for a player who is nearing the end of his current contract, which Yoro inked in August 2022. Despite Lille’s qualification for European competition, L’Equipe has already stated that the young player will be leaving the club this summer.

According to the article, Yoro, who has been described as “not normal” by manager Paulo Fonseca, is unlikely to renew his contract. As a result, Les Dogues will have to sell the player during the upcoming transfer window.

A report from Football Espana suggests that Real Madrid is looking to acquire him for less than €40m, a figure significantly lower than what the French media has been speculating.
