Liverpool injury update: Latest on Diogo Jota and Conor Bradley ahead of matches against RB Leipzig and Arsenal.

Liverpool is set to receive additional information regarding the severity of Diogo Jota’s injury as they prepare for their Champions League match against RB Leipzig.

The forward was substituted in the 30th minute during the Reds’ 2-1 win over Chelsea.

Jota was fouled by Tosin Adarabioyo in the seventh minute, with many believing the defender was fortunate to only receive a yellow card.

After receiving medical attention, Jota continued to play and was present when Mo Salah scored from the penalty spot in the 29th minute.

However, he had to leave the field shortly thereafter, making way for Darwin Nunez before the game resumed.

It seems Jota may have sustained a rib injury, and the extent of this injury will dictate his recovery time.

Head coach Arne Slot expressed doubts about Jota’s availability for the upcoming match against Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday, stating, “Diogo had to be substituted, and I am not sure what it is, but I’d be surprised if he is there on Wednesday.”

Liverpool will certainly be hoping for Jota’s return for their crucial Premier League clash against title rivals Arsenal on Sunday.

The victory over Chelsea, featuring goals from Mo Salah (penalty) and Curtis Jones, has propelled them back to the top of the league.

However, facing Arsenal will be a significant challenge for Liverpool as they aim to assert their title ambitions.

Injury concerns are mounting for Liverpool, as Conor Bradley was unexpectedly absent from the Chelsea match after captaining Northern Ireland twice during the international break.

The right-back returned to Merseyside with an injury issue. With a quick turnaround for the Leipzig match, Bradley’s recovery will be critical.

Federico Chiesa was absent for the third consecutive match, having sustained an injury during training approximately three weeks ago.

He was not seen in Friday’s practice prior to the victory against Chelsea.

Harvey Elliott is on the mend from a fractured foot and has resumed outdoor running.

Liverpool is taking a cautious approach with the attacking midfielder’s recovery, as he has been sidelined for a month. Additionally, Alisson Becker will be out for at least another month due to a hamstring injury.

The Reds are aiming for their third consecutive Champions League win as they strive to secure a top-eight finish in the new league phase, which would ensure automatic qualification for the knockout stage of the tournament.
