Liverpool has reached out to Juventus regarding a potential deal for Federico Chiesa.

Liverpool has initiated discussions with Juventus regarding a potential transfer for winger Federico Chiesa as they aim to finalize their roster before the summer transfer window closes.

Under the management of Arne Slot, the Reds have yet to secure any new signings, although they are reportedly nearing an agreement for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is anticipated to return to Spain on loan while Alisson continues as the starting goalkeeper at Anfield.

Chiesa has now emerged as a new target for Liverpool.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the club has reached out to explore a deal in the final week of the transfer window, with the Italian international seeking a new opportunity after being informed by incoming manager Thiago Motta that he does not feature in Juventus’ plans.

The Turin club is eager to facilitate Chiesa’s departure, as the Euro 2020 champion is reportedly keen on experiencing Premier League football.

Last season, Chiesa netted nine goals in Serie A, marking his most productive campaign at Juventus, as he began to regain the form that made him a standout player early in his career.

The 26-year-old had previously faced challenges due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury that hindered his progress.

Liverpool is not alone in its interest; Barcelona is also considering Chiesa as a potential alternative to Nico Williams, who appears likely to stay at Athletic Club despite Barcelona’s strong pursuit.

Chiesa primarily plays as a left winger, a position that Luis Diaz excelled in during Liverpool’s recent 2-0 win over Brentford.

Arne Slot also has options in Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota, both of whom can effectively play in that role.

Juventus kicked off their Serie A season under Motta with a 3-0 win against Cesc Fabregas’ Como and will face Hellas Verona on Monday night.
